An example of technology is the Internet which has made up-to-date information available to anyone with access in a matter of moments and provides real time information about events around the world. Technology is often considered too narrowly; according to Hughes, “Technology is a creative process involving human ingenuity”. 74 This definition’s emphasis on creativity avoids unbounded definitions that may mistakenly include cooking “technologies,” but it also highlights the prominent role of humans and therefore their responsibilities for the use of complex technological systems.
Although not the main goal, hyperautomation often results in the creation of a digital twin of the organization (DTO), allowing organizations to visualize how functions, processes and key performance indicators interact to drive value. The DTO then becomes an integral part of the hyperautomation process, providing real-time, continuous intelligence about the organization and driving significant business opportunities. Computers and the Internet – The ability to perform basic thinking processes much faster enables business, science and commerce to proceed much more efficiently.
Additionally, some coaching tech†has enabled coaching conversations without the involvement of a human at a much lower cost. Bots, such as Pocket Confidant and People Squared , allow people to ask questions, work on simulation challenges, and practice their skills in competitive games. Technology and AI permit this to happen anytime and anywhere. Some companies, such as Axa and IBM , are encouraging their adoption to provide large-scale access to coaching. A cross-disciplinary team of Mechanical Engineering and Business students have been crowned Champions of the ESB Inter-Colleges Challenge 2019.
The trends are structured around the idea of people-centric smart spaces,†which means considering how these technologies will affect people (i.e., customers, employees) and the places that they live in (i.e., home, office, car). Evolving technologies such as hyperautomation and autonomous things offer transformational opportunities in the business world. However, they also create security vulnerabilities in new potential points of attack. Security teams must address these challenges and be aware of how AI will impact the security space.
